Sending aid to Ukraine
We continue to follow the devastating developments in Ukraine and our thoughts remain with the people & animals affected by the conflict.
MWI UK has been working with WorldCourier (part of the AmerisourceBergen family) to
secure safe passage of animal aid to Ukraine.
Three weeks ago,
World Courier collected 23 pallets from our Castle Cary DC, which were received
in Ukraine 2 weeks ago and shipped via the charity we have partnered with in
Ukraine (Yapomoga) to send onto refugee camps
& animal shelters in Ukraine. As of the 1st April, the aid is
now with the animal shelters & refugee camps.
A variety of products have been donated,
including pet food, bandages, disinfectants, wound care, antiseptics, syringes,
gloves, and pet carriers.
Not only has MWI donated products, but we are also working in partnership with some of our strategic customers, such as PAWs and VetPartners. They have also donated large quantities of animal health products, and we have supported them with logistics and contacts within Ukraine.

We have been working closely with Yapomoga in
Ukraine to understand aid that is a priority. World Courier collected the 2nd
shipment of 17 pallets from our Castle Cary DC on the 4th April. The
majority of this shipment contained pet carriers. As we understand, pet
carriers must be used for some refugee camps & trains to allow refugees to stay
with their pets.
The contents of this shipment were made possible due to our partnership with VetPartners and a campaign that they ran asking their customers to donate pet carriers.
We will continue to work to understand critical products needed for the animal health of Ukraine, and we aim to ensure a steady supply of aid for as long as is required.
