I love working in a small animal practice as I am able to form a strong relationship with my clients and their pets.

In 2001, I obtained a degree in Animal Science from Nottingham University. I then went on to qualify as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2005 after studying at Glasgow University. I then worked as a mixed-animal vet in the Whitby area for 3 years treating all kinds of animals. 

In 2008, I travelled to South Africa, where I worked as a game capture vet, relocating Rhino's, Giraffes, Buffalo's and many types of antelope for conservation and breeding programs. In 2009, I returned to Lincolnshire and started to locum for local practices, providing their holiday cover. 

In early 2010, I spent 6 weeks volunteering as a Veterinary Surgeon on the island of Java in Indonesia, where I carried out dentistry on the critically endangered Slow Loris, so they could be rehabilitated and 

released back into the Java rainforest.

In 2011, I took up a permanent vet position at a well-regarded local practice, before setting up an independent small practice with my business partner in 2017.

I hope that the Clinical Advisory Board will help with the setting up of Distinct Advantage, meaning that members can trust the products on the formulary. The MWI Distinct Advantage group is a success, meaning that small independent practices can compete with the large corporate practices.

Outside of work, I like to be busy, so I have a small holding which includes 2 dogs, cats goats, 4 cows and 7 chickens! I also have a large veggie patch were I am experimenting the 'no dig' technique, using my own cow manure!
